State museums and nature reserves of Georgia from January 1, 2020 increased tariffs, the National Agency for the Protection of the Cultural Heritage of Georgia reports.
After increasing the cost of tickets is:to the cave complexes Vardzia and Uplistsikhe 15 GEL; excursion to Ujarma, Nokalakevi, Khertvisi, Gremi museum-reserve, David Gareji monastery complex - 10 GEL; Visiting the Borjomi Museum of Local Lore, the Niko Pirosmani Museum in the village of Mirzaani in Kakheti, the History Museum in Stepantsminda, the Kutaisi Historical and Architectural Museum, the Archaeological Museum in Mtskheta, the Kutaisi Historical and Ethnographic Museum, the Niko Nikoladze House-Museum in Samtred district 5 GEL.
All listed museums and museum reserves are included in the system of the National Agency for the Protection of the Cultural Heritage of Georgia.
Tariffs for guide services also increased. when visiting Vardzia and Uplistsikhe, hiring a Georgian-speaking guide will cost 25 GEL, and a guided tour in English or Russian will be 45 GEL, the price of an audio tour is 15 GEL.
For pupils of schools, students and pensioners who are citizens of Georgia, the tariff for visiting museums is still 1 lari (0.3 dollars).
Citizens with the status of internally displaced persons, war veterans, orphans, people with socially unprotected status, and people with disabilities will be allowed to enter museums and reserves for free.
