departure from Batumi at 9-00.
The first point of our tour will be Salkhino.
Salkhino (სალხინო) is one of the cult places in Megrelia. Once it was the summer residence of the princes Dadiani. Preserved temple of the XVII century and marani of the XIX century. The residence is now turned into a functioning monastery.
And this is one of those few places in Samegrelo where Ojaleshi grapes are produced. Here we will try it!
Well, then - Martvili canyons!
Here you can ride a boat, touch dinosaur footprints with your hands, swim in natural fonts. Here we have a picnic.
On the way back we will visit the monastery Chkondidi.
Chkondidi Monastery (ჭყონდიდი) - an ancient Mingrelian monastery near the town of Martvili. The first and main monastery in Samegrelo. It was built under the Abkhaz kings as a royal tomb, and was later used for the same purposes by the princes Samegrelo. The monastery became the city-forming for the city of Martvili. Historically, it was one of the most respected monasteries in Georgia.
The foundation of the monastery belongs to the end of VII century. The name comes from the Megrelian word "chkoni" (ჭყონი) - oak. That is, it is “Big Oak” - Chkoni-Didi.
Under David the Builder and Queen Tamara, the Bishop of Chkondyd was one of the main figures in the state. For example, Giorgi Chkondideli was one of the main advisers to David the Builder, and Anthony Chkondideli was the minister of Queen Tamar.
in the evening we will return to Batumi, our excursion will end, and you, impressed by what you have seen, will discuss all the wonders of the tour for a long time, sitting in the Khachapurna with a glass of wine with friends!
